Social Welfare Funds Used For Campaign By Tahir-ul-Qadri

tahir ul qadriIslamabad: Recently FIA had launched an investigation into the financial dealings of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaaj-ul-Quran which revealed that billions of rupees collected by the social welfare organization was spent on the political rallies, advertisement campaigns, bullet proof cars and on a container specially made for Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. According to details, the FIA has submitted a complaint of money laundering to the Federal Bureau of investigation. American Embassy, National Crimes Agency Britain, Interpol France and the charity commission of Britain.

The FIA has stated its concerns about the fact that Tahir-ul-Qadri had used the money collected through Minhaj-ul-Quran to create a rally against the government in 2013. He has been using this money to destabilize the government and the FIA feared that he will use the money again to launch a political campaign in 2014 also. If he succeeds in gathering people as before, then this could destabilize the country as already Pakistan was going through a critical situation keeping in mind the Zarb-e-Azb operation.

FIA stated that Dawood named man paid about $69600 in Dubai and there was no mention of a heavy tax return, while his custom duty was worth 1 Crore 35 lacs which was paid through pay order number 0124762 on 13th December. PEMRA reported that Tahir-ul-Qadri spent about 10 Crore rupees on media campaign. About 85 lac rupees were spent on the bullet proof container. A farm house near Ferozepur Lahore was purchased worth Rs 105,000,000. An armed bullet proof land cruiser was purchased from abroad. The bullet proof container according to reports was manufactured by extreme defence security.
