The ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia allows Muslims from around the world to apply for online Umrah Visa from their own homes without any visit to offices.
The process can be initiated from their ‘Maqam’ portal which is an integrated online platform for e-visas, allowing people to apply through an easy e-visa method in 2023.
How to Apply for E-Visa?
If you want to apply for visa through online then follow the process through these steps:
- Visit the official maqam website
- Select whether you want to apply as a company or as an individual
- Select one of the agencies, you will be directed to new webpage
- Select your travel locations such as Jeddah-Makkah-Medina
- Provide details of your Umrah plan such as stay duration, number of adult & children & nationality
- Hotel details will be provide for Makkah and Madina along with facilities, distance, charges, etc and you have to select one for each city.
- Transportation details will be provided with car model, facilities and fees. You have to select one.
- After completion you have to select book and then your whole Umrah package will be shown with total fees.
- Now you will required to provide your details such as name, date of birth, passport no, phone number, email etc.
- Passport’s visa eligibility will be check
- You will be proceeded for payment after which the process is completed.
To check whether your application process is completed successfully or not is the official email or message which you will receive as confirmation.
But despite this new initiative it is expected that majority of people will Apply for Hajj and Umrah from Pakistan as previously through forms and travel agencies.
Maqam (The Global Distribution System):
Maqam is the platform provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in kingdom of Saudi Arabia, what makes it unique is that it integrated all online service provides such as hotel and transportations in this portal.
It makes online visa process easy for pilgrims as they can select everything on one platform. Remember that to use this facility you need a valid passport.
