15 Incentives for Overseas Pakistanis to Increase Their Involvement with Pakistan

Every Pakistani government talks about using the potential of overseas Pakistanis. However, we don’t offer much in return to entice them. The outgoing government recently announced several incentives for overseas Pakistanis to catch their attention.

Shahbaz Sharif has introduced a set of incentives designed to boost their involvement with Pakistan and simplify interactions with different institutions.

15 Incentives for Overseas Pakistanis

Dedicated hotlines will be established under the supervision of Chief Secretaries in each province to address property-related concerns of Overseas Pakistanis.

Specialized courts will be instituted in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and across all provinces in Pakistan to expedite the resolution of property disputes concerning Overseas Pakistanis.

A 10% quota will be reserved for Overseas Pakistanis within all public sector housing schemes.

Those opting for foreign currency payments through official banking channels will enjoy an additional 5% discount.

The Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (POPC) model will be emulated across all other provinces, ensuring a consistent and effective approach.

Dedicated immigration counters will be strategically placed in all international airports nationwide, streamlining their arrival and acknowledging their importance.

The Top Ten contributors among Overseas Pakistanis will receive official recognition.

A Hall of Fame will be established within Pakistan Missions abroad to honor and applaud distinguished overseas Pakistanis for their commendable contributions and achievements.

The Central Directorate of National Savings will introduce exclusive National Saving Schemes tailored for Overseas Pakistanis, offering attractive and competitive interest rates.

The number of NADRA and passport facilitation counters will increase internationally at Embassies and Pakistan Missions.

Blacklisted passports will be automatically removed from the list after a predefined period.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will streamline the online document attestation process. MOFA will establish satellite offices in regions of Pakistan with a substantial concentration of overseas Pakistanis.

Online biometric verification will be available for various purposes, including pension disbursement, bank account management, and property transactions.

NADRA’s system will be interconnected with Union Councils. This integration will facilitate the seamless issuance of marriage, divorce, birth, and death certificates for Overseas Pakistanis.

A dedicated 5% quota will be allocated for the children of overseas Pakistanis within public sector higher education institutions. Children of expatriate Pakistani citizens will receive need-based and merit scholarships tailored.
