Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) General Secretary Allama Amin Shaheedi on Monday night along with the bereaved families, who lost their dearer ones in Hazara town explosion, announced unanimously that the sit-ins should be ended all over the country.Amazingly, the leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr. Altaf Hussein immediately responded and castigated on the decision of ending the sit-ins saying that the decision was against the feelings of the bereaved families. He specially criticized on Allama Amin Shaheedi as he used the words “some Shia elders’.
Allama Amin Shaheedi, after Altaf’s statement, reacted strongly and asked, ‘When did MQM became the well wisher of Shia community?’ He said that MQM should firstly play its role to stem target killing of Shia community in Karachi.
Shia community, in Karachi, is considered to be the huge supporter of MQM and it can be said that if Shia community did not cast their votes for MQM, it would be difficult for the MQM to succeed in elections to rule over Karachi.
As Altaf Hussein criticized on Allama Amin Shaheedi and the Allama reacted strongly against the statement, made by MQM leader, it feels that Shia community has placed confidence in Allama Amin Shaheedi because after the announcement of ending the sit-ins, approximately all the sit-ins were ended. On the other hand, some of the Shia people placed their confidence in Altaf Hussein and it feels that MQM can lose its voters in the upcoming elections.
