Passport Delivery Will Continue During Eid Holidays

Planning a trip during the Eid holidays but worried about passport services? There’s good news for all those in need of passport-related services during the upcoming Eid holidays.

The Director General of Immigration and Passport, Mr. Mustafa Jamal Kazi, has issued directives to prioritize public convenience and ensure seamless passport services during this festive season.

Special Measures Announced

In response to the directives issued by Mr. Mustafa Jamal Kazi, regional passport offices across the country are gearing up to offer special services during the Eid holidays.

From the 10th to the 14th of April 2024, the delivery counters at all regional passport offices will remain open, operating from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM. This move aims to address the growing concerns of citizens regarding delays in passport services.

Addressing Previous Concerns

Last month, the federal government announced a significant increase in Machine Readable Passport (MRP) fees. This decision, coupled with existing challenges such as long delays in passport issuance due to issues like the shortage of lamination paper, had caused distress among citizens.

However, with the implementation of special measures during the Eid holidays, authorities hope to alleviate these concerns and provide efficient services to the public.

Focus on Hajj Preparation

In addition to passport services, preparations for the upcoming Hajj season are also underway. Hajj flights are scheduled to commence in the second week of May and will continue throughout the following month.

To ensure the smooth conduct of Hajj 2024, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced the commencement of the second phase of Hajj training from April 15.

Training for Pilgrims

Forty Hajj trainers will conduct training sessions at 122 locations across the country, focusing on new initiatives and Hajj-related matters. These sessions aim to educate intending pilgrims about the rituals of Hajj and administrative procedures, ensuring their preparedness for the journey.

Emphasis will be placed on maintaining discipline and uniformity during the pilgrimage, contributing to a safe and fulfilling experience for all pilgrims.

With special measures in place for passport services during the Eid holidays and preparations underway for the upcoming Hajj season, authorities are committed to providing seamless experiences for citizens.

Whether you’re planning a trip or preparing for the pilgrimage, rest assured that steps are being taken to address concerns and facilitate smooth processes.
