Islamabad Express Train is the Pakistani train that runs between Lahore and Rawalpindi. The train provides service between the two cities daily. The name of the train has been named after the federal capital of Pakistan; Islamabad. Islamabad Express was launched on 8 September 2004 with Chinese rakes. It is running continuously since 2004. Islamabad Express train covers 290 kilometers distance daily from Lahore and Rawalpindi. The train is named 147 up for Lahore to Rawalpindi and 148 down from Rawalpindi to Lahore. Islamabad Express 107 Up train departs daily at 17:35 and stops at Lahore Junction at 17:48, Chak Lala at 21:51 and reaches Rawalpindi at 22:00. Islamabad Express 108 down train departs daily from Marghala, Islamabad at 17:15 and stops at Rawalpindi at 17:40 for twenty minutes, reaches Chak Lala at 18:05, Lahore Junction at 22:00and reaches Lahore Cantt at 22:25.
