Pilgrims Should Have To Show Their Passport To Get Zam Zam Water

ZAM ZAM WaterThe National Water Company under the King Abdullah Project for Zam Zam, has started giving sealed and packaged Zam Zam water at King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah. In order to provide real Zam Zam water to the pilgrims and travelers from all around the world, it has decided that Zam Zam water will be supplied only on passports.

The travelers and pilgrims must have to show their passports at the official Zam Zam water booth at Jeddah Airport to get 5 liter packed bottle of Zam Zam water, for 9 Saudi Riyal each. The initiatives were taken after receiving so many complains about fake Zam Zam water in the market. Few days ago, a Bengali group was also caught red handed packing tap water and labelling it as Zam Zam water.

Zam Zam is a traditional and holy drinking water of all the Muslims present all around the world. Especially, the pilgrims coming from all over the world every year take this water with them and distribute this amongst their relatives as a gift, which is usually called Saughaat. It is water gathered from a well in Mecca which has historical significance and is associated with Hazrat Ismail (A.S).

Exporting of Zam Zam is banned in Saudi Arabia and pilgrims coming in the Kingdom to perform Hajj and Umrah are allowed to take only 5 liter bottle per person.
