Pakistani 1,2,5,10,25 & 50 Cents Coins Worthless After 1st October

Karachi: A reminder for the people of Pakistan has been issued by the State bank of Pakistan to have 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 cents coins to be exchanged at the various branches of SBPSC and commercial micro-finance banks till 30th September 2014. The State Bank of Pakistan has instructed all the branches of micro-finance to display banners and posters at their respective branches to inform the people about this facility and so that they will know that their coins can be exchanged at this particular branch.

This reminder is in accordance with the announcement made by the federal government earlier. According to the announcement, as of 1st October 2014, the 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 cents coins will be worth nothing. So in order to facilitate the public, the State Bank Of Pakistan is asking the people to bring 1,2,5,10, 25 and 50 cents at any branch of SBPBSC or microfinance and have their coins exchanged before they become nothing more than a piece of metal.

So those who still possess these coins can have them exchanged or you can store them as a reminder of good old times if you want.
