NSTN Bus Service (Pakistan To China) Ticket Price & Details

North South Transport Network (NSTN) is Pakistan’s first passenger bus service which provides transportation from Pakistan cities Lahore & Islamabad (Rawalpindi) to Tashkurgan in China.

Currently NSTN provides services four times a week from Lahore and Islamabad. Each Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday a bus will depart from Pakistan to Tashkurgan which is located in China. It is an ideal service especially for those who regularly visit China due to business purpose.

Ticket Price:

The ticket fares for NSTN Bus Service from Lahore & Islamabad to Tashkurgan is Rs. 13,000/seat for one way ticket. The price for two way ticket (return ticket) is offered at discounted price of Rs. 23,000. The ticket price from Tashkurgan (Kashgar, China) is RMB 600.

The ticket fares includes all charges including the breakfast, lunch and dinner served during the journey. No extra cost will be charged from customers after the initial ticket price.

Currently online booking and eticketing is not available for passengers. The management requested the passengers to book their tickets at least one week before so that they can get a seat for the journey as the seats are limited.

Timings:

The departure timing and stops for the whole journey is as follows:

Day1: Departure from Lahore at 12 AM
Day1: Stopover at Islamabad/Rawalpindi to pick passengers at 4 AM
Day1: Breakfast in Mansehra at 7 AM
Day1: Lunch in Besham at 1 PM
Day1: Tea Stop in Chelas at 4 PM
Day1: Dinner in Gilgit at 8 PM
Day2: Stop at Sost for Custom Immigration at 2 AM
Day2: Checking at Khunjerab Pass (Pak-China Border) at 12 PM
Day2: Checking at Khunjerab Pass (Chinese Side) at 12:30 PM
Day2: Arrival in Tashkurgan at 3 PM

The departure timings, stops at different locations and other details from China to Pakistan are as follows:

Day1: Departure from Tashkurgan at 11 AM
Day1: Checking at Chinese side of Khunjerab Pass at 1 PM
Day1: Checking at Pakistani side of Khunjerab Pass at 1:30 PM
Day1: Stop at Sost for Immigration, Custom & Lunch at 2 AM
Day1: Stop at Gilgit for Dinner at 9 PM
Day2: Stop at Chilas for refreshment at 1 AM
Day2: Stop at Besham for breakfast at 6 AM
Day2: Stop at Mansehra for refreshment at 11 AM
Day2: Drop off at Islamabad/Rawalpindi  at 2 PM
Day2: Lahore arrival at 7 PM

 The schedule is same for all four days from Pakistan and China on both sides. Passengers are allowed to carry only 20kg of baggage.

Documents Required:

As this is an international journey to another country certain documents will be required for each passenger:

  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Visa
  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Return Ticket

This service will be very beneficial for citizens of Pakistan & China both countries because currently thousands of Chinese citizens visit Pakistan due to the new projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), similarly many Pakistani businessmen regularly visit China on official business trips.

Previously the only transportation service was through air from Islamabad or Lahore to Urumqi, the rates for which were between Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 10,000. Now through NSTN passengers can travel with very low fares.

NSTN is a private company authorized by the government of Pakistan & Chinese Ministry and became the first transportation company to provide international transportation through land.
