Domestic Workers Not Allowed To Work Outside Their Contracts

Domestic Workers In Saudi ArabiaThe Ministry of Labor in Saudi Arabia has warned all the domestic workers in the Kingdom not to work outside their actual sponsorship contracts. Mohammad Al-Fateh, the director of the Ministry of Labor in Eastern Province has once again highlighted the issue of domestic workers working at female workshops in the Kingdom. He clearly states that according to the rules of Ministry of Labor, the employment of domestic workers is banned at female workshops in Saudi Arabia. Mohammad Al-Fateh also made it clear that the domestic workers are not allowed to work outside of their sponsorship contracts in Saudi Arabia.

In a press statement released after so many complains about domestic workers, Al-Fateh warned the employers that serious action will be taken if any sponsor allocate their domestic workers outside of their contracts. He said that it has been noticed from the past few months that the employers are allocating their domestic workers including their housemaids, to do any tasks which are outside their contracts. According to the cabinet’s long standing decision, it is a clear violation of the domestic labor regulations.

Mohammad Al-Fateh also states that according to the Saudization system, they are ready to issue visa for cleaning staff to work in female specified roles, in the Kingdom.
