50% Increase In The Lifetime Tax Of Motorcycles In Pakistan

motorcyclesKarachi: A 50% increase in the lifetime road tax for motorcycles has been imposed in the current budget of 2014-15. According to the reports, the lifetime road tax for motorcycles was Rs 1000 last year which has now been increased to 1500 rupees for the current year. The increase in the tax has been imposed by the Pakistani government since 1st July.

In addition, the transfer fee of an old bike from one owner to another in the sale and purchase of motorcycles has been increased from Rs 125 to Rs 200. According to the estimates, about 26 thousand motorcycles are sold every month in Pakistan, which means that the increase in the life time tax for motorcycles will be able to generate about 47 crore rupees for the government.
