NHA’s Annual Revenue Goes up to Rs. 110 Billion
The annual revenue of the National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased to Rs. 110 billion while revenue collection at toll plazas has also reached Rs. 64 billion.
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted this while presiding over a high-level meeting on his visit to NHA Headquarters where he inspected the National Traffic Operation Center.
The minister reviewed the traffic monitoring and control system on motorways and directed to prepare a report on revenue collection on a daily basis. He expressed satisfaction that on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, 99 percent of vehicles have shifted to M-tag. He directed that the camera monitoring should also be ensured from the number plate and sides of the vehicles and its data should also be available to the Secretary Communications and Chairman NHA.
He also directed to create awareness among the masses regarding the use of M-tag in the next two weeks so that more vehicles can benefit from this facility which saves time, prevents theft, and reduces traffic pressure.
Khan said that the performance of the last six months in terms of revenue collection is encouraging which will help make NHA financially independent and strong. He said that NHA employees should be given bonuses and financial rewards for a record increase in revenue generation.
