SAARC-CCI To Start Joint Programs

Federal Minister for Commerce of Pakistan Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan told thatSouth Asia Association for Regional Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC-CCI) Chamber have demanded from government of respective countries to start joint programs to improve trade and investment in the region.

He said that Pakistan should increase local trade, provide business facilities and remove barriers of business communication. It is the major responsibilities of government so that people get benefits of local trade.

 Further Khurram Dastgir Khan told that Pakistan is providing many facilities to Afghanistan regarding overland transport trade. Owing to which transit trade volume is increasing between both countries. Recently Pakistan has signed free trade agreement with Sri Lanka. It will provide soft visa policies for businessmen and a general uplift in the business environment.  

Mr. Suraj Vaidya President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry while addressing a press conference in Islamabad said that the SAARC chamber was working on the plan to set up industrial parks in the region.

“Despite establishment of SAARC 30 years ago people of this region are deprived of the benefits whereas it has huge potential for growth” he added.

He said that china achieved phenomenal economic growth by setting the SAARC industrial parks that would boost trade and investment in the region.
