Pervaiz Khatak Announces Cheap Electricity Projects For KPK

pervaiz khatakPeshawar: Chief Minister of KPK, Pervaiz Khatak announced that the KPK government will introduce cheap electricity projects separately according to residential and industrial requirements. These projects will help reduce load shedding and meet the energy requirements of the province which would allow KPK to undergo development and progress and reduce poverty in the region.

Pervaiz Khatak further stated that these projects would provide jobs for the people and bring prosperity to the province. He also stated that the KPK government always took care to take steps according to the long term benefit of the people and that they had worked hard to eliminate corruption from the top in all departments in the province which has automatically led to a decrease in corruption at the lower level.

Pervaiz Khatak made these statements during his address at the launching ceremony of a small hydroelectric project in the remote area of Lalko Sakhra in the Swat region. This project is the initial phase of 356 small power houses in the region. PTI chairman Imran Khan was the chief guest at the event.

The power plant will produce 150 KW of energy which will be able to power 750 houses and will take Rs 20.14 Million to develop. The initiative includes 356 small power plants spread in Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Dir, Chitral and other areas. A total of 5 Billion Rs will be spent on these projects to generate 3.5 MW of electricity.
