Malala And Sharmeen Obaid Gets The Title “Women of Impact”

Malala and Sharmeen ObaidRenowned Pakistani activist for education Malala Yousufzai and popular filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy included in the list of “Women of Impact”. The Newyork Times has released the list of 50 women this month from round the globe who have played their part to made difference in the world over the last year. Malala Yousufzai is at 36th number and filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is placed on 48th number in this list.

US Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is at the top of this list who proclaimed that “Women’s rights are human rights and human rights are women’s right”. While the list also includes lawyer Amal Clooney, filmmaker Laslee Udwin for her documentary fim “India’s Daughter”, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, actress Jennifer Lawrence, pop star Taylor Swift and Mariam Al-Mansouri, first female fighter pilot of UAE.

Malala Yousufzai have won the Nobel Prize in December 2014 and became youngest recipient of this award. The 17 year old Pakistani girl had survived an assassination attempt by Taliban and fighting for women empowerment and education nowadays. However filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy became the center of attention through her documentary films like “Saving Face” and “Songs of Lahore”.
