KSA Issued Legal Status to Pakistanis

Saudi government has made a decision to grant lawful position to 800,000 Pakistanis in KSA.  The Pakistanis, to whom lawful position will be granted by the government were living unlawfully and were to be excluded till November 3.The ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Naeem Khan in Saudi Arabia said in an interview with Arab News that, those Pakistanis would be granted lawful positions in the state, Radio Pakistan reported. Mr. Naeem requested Pakistani employees to make contact with the consulate general in Jeddah to get lawful position and jobs.

Previously, the administration had warned the foreign workers (who make about a third of its 27million population), to check and keep their visas in array before the clean-up in November. After which they would be exiled from the land.

There are many Yemeni, Pakistani, Egyptian, Indian, Ethiopian, Sri Lankan, Indonesian, Philippines and Bangladeshi citizens who are working in Saudi Arabia and they all rely on their payments.

According to reports till the end of June at least 50,000 unlawful Pakistani settlers were working in kingdom.
The payment which the overseas Pakistanis sent their home touches $12.8 billion in 11 months from (July 2012-May 2013). If it continues in such a way, then according to calculation the amount will cross $15 billion by the end of this year.
