Islamabad Express Train Ticket Price & Timings

Islamabad Express Train is a Pakistani train that runs daily between Lahore and Rawalpindi. The train provides service between the two cities daily at affordable ticket price and timings.

The name of the train has been named after the federal capital of Pakistan from where it starts its journey towards Lahore. It was launched on 8 September 2004 and is still providing services to passengers of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Ticket Prices:

For the convenience of the passengers it has economy class, AC Lower and AC Parlor accommodation for which the prices differ. It is helpful for passenger as they can choose the type of service they want to avail at affordable fares.

The ticket prices for Islamabad Express Train are as follows:

Parlor Car: Rs. 1,100
AC Business: Rs. 1,000
AC Standard: Rs. 850
Economy: Berth Rs. 550, Seat Rs. 500

Passengers can book their ticket by visiting stations or official ticketing centers.  Now passengers can also book their e-ticket through official website of Pakistan Railways or through mobile app of Pak Railways which you can download from Google Play Store.

Timings & Schedule:

Islamabad Express train covers 290 kilometers distance daily from Lahore and Rawalpindi. The train is named 147 up for Lahore to Rawalpindi and 148 down from Rawalpindi to Lahore. During this journey the train stops only at Chak Lala station.

Seating, sleeping arrangements with bedding, baggage, catering service, lunch and dinner facilities are available for the passengers to avail in parlor or AC class while in AC standard and Economy only basic facilities are available.

Islamabad Express covers the distance in 4 hours and 15 minutes making it one of the comfortable train service that is running continuously on the route.

It is a convenient and economical means of transport which attracts tourists to travel in Pakistan on a longer route especially from Lahore to Islamabad and vice versa. But in recent years the trend of travelling from luxurious bus services such as Faisal Movers, Q-Connect and Bilal Travels is also increasing.
