India Investigates Identity Card For Monkey God Hanuman

indiaThe card photo marks the character from the Hindu epic Ramayana wearing gold and pearl jewellery and a crown. It appeared when a postman tried to give delivery the card, but was not able to find a Hanuman at the address. When he watched the photograph he understood it was possibly a prank. It is not obvious who the iris scan and fingerprints on the card belong to.

The card records Hanuman as “Pawan-ji’s” and records a mobile phone number and an address in the western state of Rajasthan. Hanuman is usually shown with a human body, a red monkey’s face and a tail. There are temples devoted to Hanuman all over the country.

The card would be gone back now to the Bangalore office of Identification Authority of India, he said. Hanuman is a mid nature in the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is usually shown as a man with the face of a monkey and a long tail.

Hanuman was viable to extend his body on purpose, fly across the sea, keeping a mountain on his hand and burn to the ground large parts of Lanka with his tail on fire. Hanuman’s followers think that worshipping him will release them from fear and danger.
