Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC) for Overseas Pakistanis

The Pakistani government has established ways to motivate the Pakistanis living abroad. The Pakistanis are encouraged to send their money from abroad to their homeland for their families through banking channels. There are five types cards that are introduced by the Foreign Exchange Reserve which are silver, silver plus, golden, golden plus and platinum.

The amount that can be remitted by using these cards in US dollar or foreign currency is 25,000 or more, 5,000 or more, 10,000 or more, 25,000 or more and 50,000 or more respectively. Similarly the duty on these remittances in Rupees is 10,000, 20,000, 30,000, 50,000, 100,000 on silver, silver plus, golden, golden plus and platinum respectively.

The things required for the Foreign Exchange Remittance Card are that you should have a book of bank remittance, two photocopies of your CNIC or POC or NICOP, and of a valid passport. A copy of your legal visa, 1×1 inch size two colored photos and an original bank voucher of the payment send to the consulate general of Pakistan in New York.

As all the verification and terms and condition are fulfilled by the authority and you provide all the recommended things all of your record will be sent of the Overseas Pakistani Foundation in Islamabad Pakistan. As your card is created you can receive it form the consulate general of the welfare community section of Pakistan in New York.  The card is valid for a time period of one year from the date you take it so the people who hold the card were recommended to renew it after that certain time period.

This card is very much beneficial to the people as it can help them at international airports to handle separate counters, they can freely issue and renew their passport urgently.
