Development of Karachi: Local Administration Have To Work Hard

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has said that Karachi is the hub of Pakistan economy. But Karachi business communities and industrialist are not happy from the performance of present government. They are only considering the Punjab regarding development.

Further he told that if Sindh government gives us complete power for the development of Karachi we will try to work hard for businesses and industries. He was addressing a conference in owner of Mayor and Deputy Mayor at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). At this moment Deputy Mayor Karachi Dr. Arshad A. Vohra, KCCI President Shamim Ahmed Firpo, Former President Siraj Kassam Teli, Senior Vice President Asif Nisar, Younus Bashir, Majeed Memon, Younus Soomro, AQ Khalil, and KCCI senior members attended the conference.

KCCI President Shamim Ahmed Firpo welcomed Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar and Deputy Mayor Dr. Arshad Vohra. He stated that we have to play a key role for the development of Karachi and KCCI. Mayor Karachi briefed that we are taking steps to resolve the Karachi Municipality Corporation (KMC) issues. Owing to which we have agreed to form a liaison committee between KMC & KCCI to look into the civic issues.

Opinion

Sindh Government should release sufficient funds for the development of Karachi. Karachi Mayor and Deputy Mayor have to work hard to resolve the major issues which is faced by citizens of Karachi.

• Internal city transportation
• Security
• Development
• Garbage administration
• NADRA issues
• Shortage of water and gas
• Energy crisis
• Inflation
