D-8 Eight Countries Attended Conference In Islamabad

D8 countries logoThe D-8 Countries have agreed to implement preferential trade agreement. It will be implemented from July 2016 amongst the member’s countries. According to the agreement they have agreed to take their trade volume to $500 billion by 2018.

The D-8 Countries conference was held in Islamabad in the supervision of Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastghir Khan. On this occasion Malaysia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, Iran, Nigeria and Turkish trade ministers attended the conference.

Khurram Dastghir addressing a press conference said that D-8 Countries have decided to renew the preferential trade agreement for greater economic cooperation in various sectors. The next meeting will be held in Malaysia next year.

Further he told that one committee has been formed to resolve the issues. They will submit the report till June 2016.

Federal minister said that Pakistani exporter should target European countries. Pakistani textile firm should develop on the likes of Turkish textile infrastructure. D-8 countries can use the technical skills of others.
